As you step through the doors of Far East, you will be greeted by an impressive selection of ingredients from various Asian cuisines. This market is not just about groceries; it's an experience filled with the vibrant aromas of spices and fresh produce that beckon food lovers and home cooks alike. The breadth of products available is commendable. For those who enjoy cooking traditional dishes or trying something adventurous, the market stocks everything from dried licorice root to Sichuan peppercorns, ensuring you can recreate your favorite dishes at home.

  • Local Favorites: Besides traditional Asian staples, the market offers popular items like roast duck and dim sum, particularly on truck days when fresh supplies are brought in.
  • Affordable Price Points: Customers appreciate the reasonable pricing, making it easy to stock your kitchen without breaking the bank. Many items are conveniently marked with stickers for clarity.
  • Customer Service: Friendly service is a hallmark of Far East Oriental Market. As Sylvia N. mentioned, the staff is eager to assist shoppers in finding what they need, recommend snacks, and enhance the overall shopping experience.

Stephen P. described his experience as superior to other local Asian markets, while Gloria W. emphasized the store's extensive offerings and the option to customize orders for cakes and desserts from NYC. This kind of personalized service is hard to come by, making your visit not just another grocery run, but a culinary adventure.

If you're a fan of Asian cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, Far East Oriental Market is a must-visit. Whether you’re stocking up on basics like soy sauce and oyster sauce, or indulging in delightful pastries like egg tarts and pork buns, each visit promises something special.

There's no Asian grocery market where I live. Since I was close by, I stopped here for a few items. Sweet potato (the purple flesh), Ma Po Tofu seasoning, fish balls, tofu squares, fresh tofu, sesame oil, and a bunch of snacks. Stickers on all items with prices. Prices are reasonable. There are so many different types of instant noodles. I am impressed they have packets to make "herbal soups" - for people who don't want to buy them separately at the herbal stores. The young lady helped us find what we need and recommended a few snacks. Friendly service - thank you

I've been here several times now. I would say it is the best among the other Asian markets in the area. Well-stocked and a wide variety of items. Not the friendliest people, but helpful if you ask a question. Biggest negative is that the majority of not all of items have no price markings.

Extremely well stocked Asian grocery store for all of your needs. I included photos of the hours & when you can expect fresh roast duck & buns from NYC. I know that you can call in for a special order of cake or desserts from NYC if you'd like.

This is my go-to grocery for all of my Chinese pantry and grocery needs. They renovated about 2 years ago, and really expanded their offerings. If you live in the Lehigh valley, you won't find a better place to stock up on dou chi, doubanjiang, dried licorice root, Sichuan pepper corns (green AND red), rock sugars, damned near everything, or all the different fermented bean curds, freshly butchered meats (cut in the particular ways that Chinese recipes require), fresh fish, all the varieties of bean curd, and if you can't find it? ASK. This lovely family will absolutely help you out! They also carry a very decent array of ingredients for other cuisines. Their truck days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The bring in Cantonese roast meats on Thursday and Saturday. Dim sum, too. Honestly, this is a wonderful, kindly family, and if you like to cook Chinese food ('cuz if you want decent Cantonese food, you ain't getting it in eastern PA, 'cept for Philly) you need too bring your ass to Whitehall. And hop onto YouTube for recipes.

A very well-stocked Asian market! It holds your basic Asian vegetables as well as pastries! You'll find the egg tarts (dan ta) to sponges cakes! I bought pork buns as well. Lots of frozen foods you'll typically find in Asian markets as well! I found my favorite chrysanthemum teas and soy milks; all the condiments (soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, curries, etc). Bowls, spoons, chopsticks, sushi mats, woks, and cooking utensils are available. Ramen selection is okay enough to get by but not as various as some places I'm used to. There is a small seafood selection that's kept frozen on ice in the back. Looking forward to coming back for my necessities!

Best Asian grocery store near Allentown. If you happen to cook Thai food, this place has all the ingredients you're looking for at affordable prices. Let me give you the list of what you can get here: 1. Thai herbs e.g. Kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil, lemongrass, galangal, turmeric or even frozen neem or rhizome! 2. Any Thai canned curry paste 3. Fermented fish sauce 4. Thai eggplants 5. Fish sauce 6. Bean sprouts 7. Green mangoes and green papayas 8. Thai instant ramen noodles, Mama. 9. Dried chili paste and dried fruits. Plus they reuse cardboard boxes instead of the plastic bags to pack your stuff. Talking about "Going Green"!!!
